Well it’s that time of year… Christmas shopping dilemma time! I thought I would share a few of my favourite gizmos that I think would be great for healthy, environmentally-friendly gifts.

(2020) Lauren bought this Shakti Mat for my birthday and I love it! I use it every day for my back pain

This Avocado storer over a wet paper towel to keep it clean is a win win! I got this one at Coles

Speaking of which bees wax food wraps are a great step towards less plastics. They are made of natural ingredients – bee’s wax, jojoba oil, tree resin, and cotton, they are reusable and compostable. I got these at Palmyra markets but there are plenty online also.

I’ve written about the important role of gut bacteria and the health benefits of probiotics and on making Kombucha and sauerkraut previously but I have found making Kefir easier and it is said to have more good gut bacteria than kombucha. You can choose from milk kefir, coconut milk, coconut water or just water. I’ve bought my kit from here

Pot of Herbs Basil is a great pressy this time of year – who doesn’t love basil??? You can get them in pots in Coles/Woolies – put them in pretty pot for a gift or gift wrapped to plant in garden. Parsley  is healthy addition to juices and many dishes. Coriander is a little hard this time of year as it bolts so quickly.

This has been the best strawberry plant I’ve ever grown – not pests and lovely firm strawberries , I got it from Bunnings

Aromatherapy vapouriser – I don’t know how these work but the water isn’t hot. Make sure you get pure essential oils, just a few drops and voila – instant bliss without the harmful chemicals of room fresheners. Even Air fresheners called green and organic can emit potentially hazardous chemicals and less than 10% of air freshener ingredients are typically disclosed to the public. Thomas got this one from Kmart and it’s great, so pretty at night.

This one is great as it has a timer.

Heat pack – who couldn’t use these every now and then – I got Lauren’s from Peter Alexander. PA have pretty silky eye masks also.

If you want to steer away from chemical laden perfumes (I know it’s hard to give up…. they smell so divine but again perfumes are chemicals. Aesop have some lovely natural essences (I like Marakesh it’s spicy and comes in a roller for travel)

Mother Earth in Freo have the most divine natural Essences – I love the Gaia Goddess.

Plastic water bottles are a BIG environmental problem. They are also harmful especially if left in the heat as BPA will leach out into water. These stainless steel bottles are a great size and fit into our car console hole and you can get them insulated for hot and cold temps. I found some gorgeous ones (pictured) by Swell on Amazon

Reusable Coffee cups are again BIG environmental problem. Did you know the actual cup is to recyclable? These glass take away cups are great and some dates even give you a discount for using your own….. a bit like the plastic bag saga…. you just have to remember to keep tin the car so you can use it!  I got mine from Puck (Cnr Canning and Petra)…. which btw has THE best coffee!!!! or you can get online like here or anywhere these days.

I love my Oracle cards – there’s lot to choose from at Hayhouse.com.au

I hope this has given you a few ideas – I’d love to hear yours too!!!!

Happy Shopping!!!!!

And wishing you a very Merry Christmas
