How my 5 Day Jumpstart went

Well after a winter of many trips away and being quite naughty, I decided it was timeto have a good Reset! I have been telling myself to do this for weeks and finally bit the bullet.

Usana’s Jumpstart is a Program that helps you reduce cravings by keeping your blood sugar levels even through the day. The shakes are a full meal replacement, full of protein, good fats and carbs, lots of fibre and nutrients.

I haven’t marketed this for nearly 2 years. As a Health Coach I like to focus on educating my clients holistically with real food and a healthy lifestyle. However this Reset has worked for soooo many of my Usana customers over the years. They taste yummy and are really filling. The 5 day Jumpstart is simple to do – just add healthy snacks, unlimited green leafy vegies throughout the day and vegies for one meal/day (option for small portion of fish or chicken if need be). Included also are nutritional supplements and probiotics which really gives your body a boost and helps your gut health.

Here is a quick account of my 5 Days:

Day 1:

I always start my day with a ginger, turmeric, apple cider vinegar and hot water, it’s a great tonic.

I love the chocolate nutrimeal and I find them filling so it’s actually easy… well the first day was.

I had yummy leftover soup for dinner choc full of vegies. It feels good already

Day 2

Went so easily. I was not hungry at all and because I kept busy it was actually convenient to grab a shake bottle and go.

It was a bit chilly in the morning so had a hot chocolate nutrimeal mmmmm!

I had a yummy Smartbar in the arvo to keep me going with my 10th cup Buddha’s tears green tea!

Dinner time was a huge plate of vegies, with a little piece of fish, lemon and coriander (only ate one potato)  with a glass of sparkling water

DAY 3

Went so well. I changed it up and had the vanilla with Rev3, & as usual my Fibergy and Probiotic,

1/2 an avocado for a snack

Chocolate Nutrimeal for lunch on the run, then

A huge yummy stir fry which was a hit with everyone (they got extra chicken and I got extra vegies.

DAY 4

Another very easy day! Was never hungry and I’m feeling much more comfy around the tummy and hips.

Dinner was leftover stirfry with extra coriander, asparagus & brocoli added. I know it looks awful but it was delicious! I had 1/2 apple later.

As with most of my clients (what about you?), after dinner is the hardest time for me as we usually have a cuppa and I weaken to the pretzels or twisties sitting in front of me.

This is a good week to kick bad habits! It is important for our digestion, health and weight to not eat before bed. Your body needs the nighttime to rest and repair – not digest! And let’s face it, if you do feel a little hungry (and that is usually just habit of expecting a treat), hang in there it won’t be long and you will be dreaming/snoring away. You’ll probably sleep better and wake up proud of yourself and ready to start a new day with confidence

DAY 5

Went well, grabbed a breaky and lunch shake on the go. Marty got these amazing oranges while down south, delicious!

Footy time was a test – made hommus and carrot sticks and made sure they were in front of me and I loved it, the rest went down hill but still relatively well considering the situation… a few chicken wings.. then 2 party pies, 2 beers and a wine – not quite the correct ending but… what can I say…. I’m bad!

Results

I didn’t measure or weigh myself Monday (it was too cold to use the measure tape and have weaned myself off getting on scales) but I definitely feel better around my hips which is what I wanted ???  and I am more determined not to get back into bad habits ?. It’s been good to remember how easy the nutrimeals are! You don’t go hungry!??

If you would like to read some of my customers results see here they are pretty amazing!!!!

I am not advocating Shakes are a continual substitute for real food. This can be a great way to Jumpstart your weight loss by helping level out your sugar and insulin levels.

However creating a healthy lifestyle that is sustainable means learning what foods nourish and what foods harm “your” body, creating healthy habits and mindset to support your healthy food choices.
